Shared Intention, Fractured Intention

How easily we forget that water is wild
We claim it, we fight over it
but we did not make it.

The waters that melted from the mountains
collected in the basins
and filled the rivers
coursing through the arid West
created worlds of overflowing abundance
Wet meadows with grazing herds of elk
great rivers bursting with salmon
marshlands filled with ducks and swans
egrets and cranes
Our use
our heedless overuse
almost destroyed that world
But there is hope
Is there hope?
We decide
Wild Hope
